Software needed • SeureCRT • WinSCP • Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client • http://www.auburn.edu/oit/vpn/ • Xming • Download the 1st three setup files from AU Install. • https://fp.auburn.edu/oit/hardware_software/auinstall/login.aspx
SecureCRT • Download and run the SecureCRT setup. • After installation, run the program. • Choose Engineering and click connect. • If prompted, enter your credentials.
WinSCP • Download and install WinSCP from setup. • Choose File Protocol as “SFTP”. • Host name: scp.eng.auburn.edu • Port no.: 22 • Enter your credenials. • Leave private key as blank. • Click Login, you may be asked to save a key, accept it.
XMing • Download Xming from http://www.straightrunning.com/XmingNotes/ • Download and install the circled setup files. • When installing X-Ming fonts, make sure to select all the fonts.
Troubleshooting • Make sure to run XMing first before running SecureCRT so as to run the EDA Tools. • If you want to access the tools or your filesfrom off campus, make sure to run Cisco AnyConnect VPN first. • You cannot name only an .ext file (.bashrc) in Windows, it has to be done in the shell prompt (SecureCRT). • Open shell prompt (SecureCRT), type “mvsample.bashrc .bashrc”. This creates your .bashrc file which loads all the CAD libraries when you start CRT. • If you already have a .bashrc file set up, you can copy the contents of the sample file into your original file.
