El Subjuntivo Part 1 de 2
1 La Primera Pregunta ¿Qué es el subjuntivo? When a person wants, suggests or demands that someone else do something, you use the subjunctive mood. Each sentence will have two parts: Main clause (present tense) + que + subordinate clause (subjunctive) (The subordinate clause must have a new subject!)
The Formation 2 How do you form the subjunctive: 1. Take the “yo” form in the present tense. 2. Drop the “-o.” 3. For –ar verbs add -e, -es, -e, -emos, -éis, -en For –er/-ir verbs add –a, -as, -a, -amos, -áis, -an ***Always go to the “yo” form first!!! ** Notice the yo and él,ella, Ud. forms both have the same ending in the subjunctive.**
We like to use this rhyme to help remember how to form the subjunctive: Forma de yo Corta la “o” Opposite endings.
Opposite Endings -AR Verbs -ER / -IR Verbs
