  6. UNDP GEF Tisza MSP Project title: Integrating multiple benefits of wetlandsandfloodplains into improved transboundary management for the Tisza River Basin

  7. Project objectives • To integrate water quality, water quantity, landuse and biodiversity objectives within integrated water resources / river basin management (IWRM/IRBM) under the legal umbrella of the EU and the ICPDR • To begin implementation of IWRM principles through the testing new approaches on wetland and floodplain management through community-based demonstration projects

  8. Anticipated outcomes • Outcome 1: Adoption of policies and legislation that promote the use of wetlands / floodplains • Outcome 2: Demonstration of effective floodplain management strategies

  9. Expected Outputs from Component 2 • Agreement through stakeholder consultation ondemonstration sites • Implementation and evaluation of demonstrationprojects • Demonstration projects influence on integrated riverbasin management plan • Demonstration projects influence on local communities • Replication plan
