Marine Highway Services • M-64 Express • 93.7 miles by highway from Virginia Ports Authority Norfolk to Virginia Ports Authority Richmond • Transit time one- way is 12 hours and the barge requires about 5 hours to load and discharge. • 464 TEUs moved in June 2013 • Emission reduction of 35% difference from truck service • M-580 Green Trade Corridor • 82.7 miles by highway from Ports of America Outer Harbor to SSA Oakland International Container Terminal • Containers move from road to water 78 miles, 9.5 hours at 8 knots per trip between Stockton to Oakland • 336 TEUs moved in June 2013 • Container on Barge Service (M-146) • 25 mile waterway spanning the Houston Ship channel to the Cedar Bayou • Approximately 2,000 containers per month • Expansion could save approximately 143,520 gallons of diesel fuel annually and reduce greenhouse gas emission by 1,877 tons.
