  1. The Use of Teaching Aid in Mathematics Learning By Nurul Hasanah (1600006116) UniVERSITAS Ahmad Dahlan

  2. PURPOSE • To Inform about function and the benefits of using teaching aid in mathematics learning. • To open our minds that learning mathematics using teaching aid can be a way to make mathematics learningmore meaningful for students

  3. DEFINITION OF TEACHING AID Teaching Aid are tools that contains or carries the characteristics of theconceptlearned. (Elly Estiningsih,1994) Main Function To reduce the concept of abstraction, so the students can understand the meaning of the concept.

  4. The Purpose Using Teaching Aid 1. Make it easy to understand abstract mathematical concepts 2. Be a concrete source to learn one or more mathematical concepts 3. Motivate students to learning math

  5. Benefits of Using Teaching Aid • Student is active • Meaningful learning • Joyful mathematics learning (fun math learning) • Hands on mathematics (math feels real)

  6. CLASSIFICATION OF MATHEMATICS TEACHING AID Teaching Aid can be classified according to their functional aspects into 6 types, they are: • Models • Bridge • Skills • Demonstrations • Aplication • Sources

  7. 0 5 10 15 20 25 30 35 40 45 Models Bridge Example: Model of solid figure • Example: • Line of Numbers

  8. Skill Example: • Game cards Demonstrations • Example: • Volume of Pyramid

  9. Sources Aplication • Example: • Tangram • Example: Birthday guess cards
