Challenges and Opportunities Working with Governing Bodies: • To help deliver objectives in Whole Sport Plans. Working with Local Authorities and community groups: • To help deliver wider sport plans; and plug gaps that won’t be filled by a focus on clubs. Capitalising on the build-up to 2012: • We need to identify and develop more events and other opportunities to maximise the interest and excitement generated by the build-up to 2012. This is important: • if we are to demonstrate how 2012 can ‘add value’ and use the lessons learned to inform and shape the sporting legacy for hosting future major events; and • to help build a credible case for funding beyond 2013.
