  1. Using Pine to send your ICS111 homework First Log in into UNIX using SSH either from home (If you have previously installed SSH or from the Lab. Once in the command prompt type pine<enter> Your username should appear here Press <enter> Now you will be required to enter your password Enter your password here Press <enter>

  2. Select the Message Index using arrows. Press <enter>This will take you to your inbox You should now see your e-mail messages listed Press C This will allow you to compose a new message. You will get this screen:

To send your message to the ics111 inbox type tp_202 as shown here Using your arrows move down to Attachment Type <ctrl>T This will show you your files in the main directory so that you can select the file to send. Select the file to attach by moving the arrows up and down. Once you have highlighted the file that you want to send type <enter> Once the file is attached you will go back to your e-mail main screen. It should look like this Using your down arrow key move into the Subject.

  4. Type your e-mail subject. If the ICS111 assignment requests a certain specific subject, be sure to type it exactly as required. If you want to type any message write in the message text. To send your message type: <ctrl> X The following will appear in the bottom of your SSH window: Type: Y Once the message is sent you will be back in your inbox (the view of your message list).

  5. To quit pine Press Q You will get the following screen: Press Y You will be back in the UNIX command line.
