Students at FCHS have the opportunity to take online courses through Georgia Virtual School. • Students may take tuition free virtual school courses as part of their daily schedule. • Interested students or parents need to talk with Ms. White and pick up a form that needs to be completed (Room MB3, 706-384-4525 ext 1322) • Interested students or parents can visit the link on Ms. White’s web page GAVS Information
As a student of online learning there are certain characteristics and requirements necessary to be successful with an online course • It is recommended that interested students complete the online learning quiz at www.gavirtualschool.org Click on “ABOUT” on the toolbar – In the drop down menu choose “Students” – Look for the “Is online learning for me?” and take Quiz Online learning requirements
GAVS offers a variety of courses • Visit http://www.gavirtualschool.org/CourseInfo/Fall2013Courses.aspx for a list of available courses GAVS Courses
Go to http://www.gavirtualschool.org • Click on “LOG IN TO GAVS” • Next click on “Register” • Click “Student Account” or “Parent Account” • Fill in all the requested information. • You will be assigned a user name – you will create you password • Write down your user name and password How to Register With Georgia Virtual School
Log in using your user name and password • Choose the green “APPLY FOR COURSE” button at the top right • Next select your grade level (Middle/High), the semester, and the subject area • Then click “Search” • High School students need to make sure the course has AB at the end for block schedule • Choose the course you would like to take and click on the “Add to Backpack” link • An email will be sent to the home school facilitator to approve enrollment How to Apply For a GAVS Course
