Cherokee High School finds itself isolated in a war among South Jersey high schools. As the central powers led by Lenape High School attack smaller schools, Cherokee must decide whether to get involved or remain isolationist. Share your opinion on whether Cherokee should join the war.

  2. Do now-War of the High schools • A war amongst the high schools in South jersey is occurring. Cherokee High school is isolated in the war of the high schools. The central powers led by Lenape high school are attacking smaller schools at will. They are making promises that they are not keeping. They try to secretly ally with Cherry Hill east to attack Cherokee. • As a student of Cherokee high school should Cherokee get involved in the war of high schools? Or should Cherokee remain isolationist? Explain your reasoning

  3. U.S. Opinion • As the war dragged on in Europe, President Wilson urged Americans to remain neutral • The U.S. stays out of European conflicts • 1/3 of country born in different countries • Many Americans favored one side or another

  5. Lusitania • German U-boats torpedoed ships bound for Britain. • On May 7, 1915, a U-boat sank the British passenger ship Lusitania, killing many Americans.

  6. Reaction to Lusitania Sinking • Americans were angry about the Lusitania • Wilson wants peace, but begins to prepare for war • In 1916, Congress expands the army and authorizes more warships.
