Tech Drive • Thanks to everyone who donated to the tech drive • NGHS DECA donated 150 pounds of used technology!
WEEK • Every chapter celebrates DECA during the month of November, ours is October 31st- November 4th…. • This is how we celebrate:
October 31stBox-Wrapping Party • Kick off of DECA Week! • Box wrapping party after school till 2:45 for Toys for Tots!
November 1stSpirit Day • Wear DECA Gear or DECA Colors (Blue or Gold) for a free Otis Spunkmeyer cookie
November 2ndTeacher Service • Your DECA officers will be delivering special treats to the amazing faculty here at NGHS! • Earn 1 community service point per hour of service all while volunteering to help a teacher. Return the signed teacher service form by November 30th!
November 3rdDress-Up Day • Dress up as your future career or in professional attire! • For example, if you want to be a doctor when you grow up, wear a lab coat or scrubs. • Members who dress up get free pizza!!
November 4thCotton Candy • All students at NGHS get free cotton candy • Get a community service point by helping us make and serve it!
Fall Rally • If you are attending Fall Rally, there is a MANDATORY informational meeting. • When: October 12th @ 6:30 am • Where: Room 400 • Remind101: @decafallto 810-10 (sign up now please!)

Region Competition • When: December 1st • Where: Mill Creek High School • What: First DECA competition of the year! Compete in a role-play for a chance to move on to State CDC and eventually ICDC in Anaheim, California!
What is a Role-Play? • In a role-play, you are given a fictional scenario where you have 10 minutes to prepare and then 10 minutes to present to 1-3 judges. • These prompts are different for each category. Some categories include Retail Merchandising, Sports and Entertainment Marketing, Food Marketing and so much more!
Competition Workshop • When: October 18th 2:15-3:30pm • Where: Room 400 • What: 1 Event Point Attend this fun workshop to learn more about competing in DECA which helps you achieve awards, scholarships, and amazing travel experiences! **For info on all the Region categories, real past role-play scenarios, and information on competition in general, come to this very important workshop!
Riverside Fall Festival • October 21st 5:00-7:00 pm • Earn a community service point by volunteering at the Riverside Elementary Fall Festival!
Toys for Tots • Every member is required to have a Toys for Tots box in any room • Please sign up for a room on --------- • First come, first serve!
Trunk or Treat • Sign up on: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1sBEWBRiR47cx3SzJlW3uiP5YAMBKMo2Msim1eiOCsLQ/prefill • When: October 25th, 3:30-8:45pm • Where: NGHS Senior Parking Lot • What: Earn some community service points all while having a fun time with all of the other clubs in the Senior Lot! DECA’s theme is Harry Potter • 1 large bag of candy = ½ a service point (maximum of 2 points) and/or 1 shift = 1 service point
