Abstract (3 language) • Sometimes students write annotation instead of abstract • Abstract is an overview of diploma project • There are 2 types of abstract. Descriptive and Informative • Descriptive abstract presents the main topic, the purpose or goal and the description about structure of the contents • Informative abstract presents key facts, an overview of the problem, the context and your contribution • A typical abstract is about 250-500 words and 1-2 pages • It must be in 3 languages (Kazakh, Russian and English)
Contents • All chapters and subchapters must be included • There must be page number • For title pages and abstract in diploma thesis student must leave blank for page number, but they are included as pages so mostly content’s page number is 7 or 8.
Format • Times New Roman • Font size - 14 • Line spacing – 1.5 or 1 • Left–3 cm, Right – 1 cm (as in fig1) • Top–2 cm, Bottom–2.5 cm (as in fig1) • Eachchapter must beginwith new page • All specificnames must begiven in ownlanguages Figure 1. Format of A4
Chapters • Chapters must bedividedintosubchapters as shown in fig 2. • Chapter must bewritten in bold with tab. Alsothereis no dot «.» at the end of name of chapter • There must be page numberat center in the bottom of page. Figure 2. Structure of chapters
Reference • Reference must begiven in [] format in text • At the end of workthere must bereference part, whichbeginsfrom 1,2 and so on • In KZ thereis a Vancouver style of reference • Reference for a book – AuthorName(s). BookName. Press. Year. (: Chapteroptionally) • Reference for a paper – AuthorName(s). PaperName. JournalName. Year. (: Pages optionally) (url Accessed Date optionally)
Figures • All figures must have a specificnumber and explanationat the bottom of given figure • Figures must beginwithnumber 1 and continue like 2, 3, 4 e.t.c. • In yourtextthere must referencelike «as shown in fig 2 thereis a ….» You must specifywhich figure (show number) • If you copy figures from Internet in figure you must show URL. • All figure must be in the center of textwithoutanytextnearit
Tables • All tables must have a specificnumber and explanationat the top of given table • Tables must beginwithnumber 1 and continue like 2, 3, 4 e.t.c. • In yourtextthere must be a referencelike «Table 3 shows us ….» You must specifywhich table (show number) • Number for table and number of figures must not be mixed
Mathematicequations • All mathematicequations must bewritten by Math Editor and put reference in brackets () near to it • All equations must have a specificnumber • You cannot put a printscreen (or picture)
