  3. Site Ranking I gave FC Dallas a total of four stars based on the amazing learning experience it provides and the opportunities it exposed me to. I was able to accomplish my goals of meeting contacts to help me network and gain a better idea of what I wanted to do after college with this internship. The internship at times was unstructured and missing materials I needed to complete daily tasks. Although not perfect overall, I would definitely recommend this site for future internship applicants.

  4. FC Dallas made it all the way to the MLS Cup in Toronto, ON for the first time in franchise history this year, the whole office was flown to Canada to support the team

  9. Words of Wisdom • Take initiative of all situations and ask questions if you are unsure. Better to do things right the first time than redoing tasks again and again. Be prepared to work long hours and not receive much credit or applause.

Internship Objectives • Use professional setting to make application of theories and concepts learned in the classroom the past three years • Use opportunity to make contacts to network and help me obtain a professional employment position upon graduation • Learn tasks and responsibilities of Public Relations and gain experience through events • Develop and build skills and techniques directly related to Public Relations and use to help better my quality of work and help create a building foundation for my future career

Daily Activities • Compile all online articles related to FC Dallas and format into word document to send to supervisor and all media • Attend team’s training session and take pictures and notes. Escort requested players to approved media for interviews, used my phone for phone interviews and radio appearances • Updated game notes, player bios, stats and news stories for media guides • Scheduled and coordinated player appearances, kept record of all events and filed expense reports for players • Wrote training reports, media advisories, and news advisories to display on website or send out to media list based on upcoming events or recent news.

  12. Project Description • Create a master events calendar for all events at Pizza Hut Park, player appearances and public community events with detailed information and contact lists. Using this calendar to then organize and streamline a new process for player appearances and public relation events. Next, compile a separate folder for request forms and reconstruct the process of how they are handled, responded to, and dealt with. This project will help organize all public relation events and create a layout in a clear format that will prevent confusion or conflict with possible overlapping events, and will help with the communication process between separate parties.
