  1. Introducing… Religious Emblems Coordinators

  2. How many councils have adopted the Religious Emblems Coordinator Position? • Not all councils have adopted the Religious Emblems Coordinator position (BSA has 300 Councils) • As of a little more than two weeks ago 103 Council Religious Emblems Coordinator patches have been purchased. No numbers for District and Unit • No code on application

  3. Religious Emblems Coordinators can help you retain Scouts • Looking for a time-tested method for retaining Scouts? Put your faith in religious emblems. • The research is clear: Scouts working on their religious emblems remain in Scouting longer. • And considering that more than two-thirds of our chartered organizations are faith-based, religious emblems represent a way to make your relationship with your unit’s chartered organization more of a two-way street. Article from Bryan Wendell, an Eagle Scout, and the senior editor of Scouting magazine

  4. PURPOSE: • Encourage all youth to earn the emblem of their faith • Promote religious emblems usage like BSA promotes other youth advancement • Establish goals and track the number of religious emblems to be completed every year

  5. WHY? Baden-Powell stated, "No man is much good unless he believes in God and obeys His laws. So every Scout should have a religion....Religion seems a very simple thing: First: Love and Serve God. Second: Love and serve your neighbor." (Scouting For Boys, 1908)
