LOGGING ONTO FRED TO ENTER INFORMATION FROM PPMC ED When a message is received for a mass casualty incident from the City’s Fire Communications Center via HASTE, they will ask you to log onto the FRED system to enter available patient capacity in the ED. To access FRED go to this website: http://www.fred.state.pa.us/login_Users.asp and you will see this screen: Log in ID is PPMC Password is EDmyrin The next screen after log-in will look something like this one where they list the “Active Alerts”. Click on the appropriate alert. (There may be only one choice). The next screen will have a number of boxes where data can be entered. Fill out any blocks of information. Usually they will be asking for critical and non-critical bed availability in the ED. This information will be used at the scene to help distribute patients to area hospitals. After filling in the boxes, hit “Submit” in the bottom right. Remember to log off after submitting the information. The City may use FRED repeatedly during an incident to obtain an updated bed status in the ED.
