Contents Security concerns, single user interface for grid applications Test-bed organization basing on UNICORE Detailed explanation on test-bed Conclusion
Security Issues Protect applications and data from system where computation is going on. Stronger authentication is needed. Protect local system from remote executive content.
The Need of Single User Interface • Preprocessing • intensive volume of data, high-throughput network • Processing • high computing power • Post processing • powerful graphic server for visualization
Test-bed Organization System for user access Distributed Resources Management System Storage and database management system UNICORE (Uniform Interface to Computing Resources) Sun Grid Engine DB 2 • SMP Linux cluster
Why UNICORE? supports security and access requirements of modern grid system. integrate with other gird middleware/ grid technology. implemented in Java and platform independent. free software under BSD license.

Conclusion UNICORE-based user access system : Provides Single Sign-On for all resources. Provides secure, seamless access for users to all Grid resources managed by local DRMS. Provides a single interface for users for authentication, authorization, submitting jobs, launching applications and receiving of results. The integration with SGE is more effective for collecting resources and extension of XNJS in UNICORE allow submitting the jobs to the target system.
