Annual Conference • I have attended and it is a fantastic conference! • They have all the information for the upcoming conference on the website • http://www.seaho.org/?page=seaho2013general • The website also lists recent past conference information. • The conference hosts a Placement Exchange each year for professionals in the region.
Representation • Representation for SEAHO is based on states. Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia are all members of SEAHO. • The Executive Board is comprised of a President, President-Elect, Past President, Sage, Treasurer, Secretary, Member At Large (2), and a Technology Coordinator. • Members have the opportunity to serve on committees such as Awards and Recognitions, Educational Programs, Human Relations, Marketing, and Placement.
Associates • Building relationships with associates is a significant effort of SEAHO. • Associates are companies and vendors that provide services for college and university housing offices. • Associates attend and fund the annual conference in hopes of establishing accounts with the institutions present. • Associates have a section of the website specifically designed for them as well.
Website applications • Social Networking • Members have the ability to set up profiles and connect with other professionals. • This is an amazing feature for the site, but it is relatively new and underused at this time. • Committee Functions • Committees have sections dedicated to maintaining communication. • Professional Resources • The website promotes professional development by participating in other organizations and conferences.
