Welcome to Camp Zone! Welcome to Camp Zone at Merryhill School of Keller Camp Zone® offers fun-filled summer programs for children ages 5-12.Each week, campers jump into action, participating in exciting sports programs, exploring nature, becoming involved in performing and creative arts, playing a part in group activities, and attending special events. Our campers have the opportunity to expand their horizons during the summer, embarking on new adventures, and having fun! Our exceptional program and dedicated staff create an environment that forges lifelong friendships among our campers. We create a summer experience that is unforgettable! It all starts with our outstanding camp counselors. A camp is only as good as its staff, and we are extremely proud of ours. Talent, creativity, love of children, leadership and devotion make our camp counselors the heart and soul of the program. We take our camp programs seriously and begin our summer with intensive staff training and orientation. Camp Zone® counselors and specialists are doing exactly what they enjoy most: spending a summer inspiring campers to explore, reach for new heights, and expand their horizons. Camp Zone®. Camp Zone® includes five days of activities, from 6:45am – 6:30 pm. We offer a range of outdoor activities, plus indoor activities conducted in our fully air conditioned facility. Highlights of Camp Zone Summer Camp Weekly Themes Channel Surfing Summer 2013 This summer, don’t channel surf in front of your television! Leap into our world of adventure, art, science and fitness. Each week we will create an action packed “channel” experience via field trips, guest speakers, activities, and specialty camps. Our qualified and knowledgeable staff will guide your camper on a fantastic summer-long journey. Our campus facilities include a swimming pool, nature trail, soccer pitch, and outdoor amphitheater, as well as a computer lab, library, and clubhouse! Weeks 1 & 2 The invention of Art Come explore the invention of Art as we create one of a kind art work through out the week using new medias, textures and colors. Week 7 & 8 Architecture Just like professional architects, kids can imagine and draw floor plans, trace furniture onto their plans, and build a detailed 3-D model Week 3 & 4 Machines and Tools Come on a journey through hands on building and master the art of machines. Together we will create, build and design small machines to race and play games with. Week 9 & 10 Technology Inventions What goes on behind the scenes of a news station, or printing press? This week we are exploring the how of modern technology, and creating some of our own adventures. Week 5 & 6 Art of Design Ever wanted to create your own super hero cape or make a designer bag? This is the perfect time to design and create a one of a kind item to take home. Week 11 How It’s Made Ever wanted to know how things are made? We will be exploring how simple household items are made, taking them apart and looking deeper into the world of modern science.
