  1. The teach-me By Katie Hahn and Emily Pfeiffer (a.k.a The Smarties)

  2. What does it do? The purpose of the teach-me is to educate kids and help teachers of all ages and studies. It is a object kids can do all their learning and homework on. It is also only one thing to carry instead of many things. It is also harder to forget also, because of the state of the art homing system, which automatically sends out a beeping noise that the child should be able to hear, as well as see, because it would light up too.

  3. How does it work? The teach-me is an electronic mix of a keyboard and a computer screen. It has ‘teach-apps’. Some apps have educational games. (Students don’t have access to the app store.) It beeps before the bell rings, it’s the size of a Mercer agenda, and it’s 1 1/2 inches thick. Lastly it beeps vigorously before you leave for the bus or your parents drop you off because we don’t want you to forget all your homework.

What are ‘teach-apps’? • Spectrum • Cafeteria ( If you are having lunch at school you can order it in the morning) • Library ( Books can be downloaded from your account.) • Cancelations (Delays included) • Agenda (You can put your assignments and important events in it) • Homework folder (Put all your ‘worksheets’ in it) • Math folder & virtual math textbook • Science folder & virtual science textbook “Teach-apps” are apps that you use to teach kids and make life easier for teachers. It has everything from homework folder to agenda as well as binders and textbooks. Now the students will never leave his/her HW at home and save paper.

Continued apps. • History folder & virtual history textbook • English folder & literacy textbook • Dictionary, Thesaurus, & Spell Check • Keyboarding folder & programs • Alerts (Time for 1st block, Lunch!, Science paper due by 2:00, etc.) • Gym folder • Security (Camera, only activated during school, password to open to homepage would be your fingerprint, or voice activation) • Instant connection to Mercer Website/ teach-me runs on 3G connection

  6. Why is the teach-me an improvement? The teach-me brings together learning with electronics, like others, but with a twist. It makes it easier for kids to learn faster and better instead of losing knowledge because they do not have the necessary materials or they just can’t keep up because they are busy looking for whatever they can’t find. It also helps teachers because they don’t have to hunt down students for lost homework. They can also make lesson plans easier so we can all learn as fast as possible. All the teacher’s teach-me’s will have lesson planner, attendance, e-mail, as well as grade book on it.

  7. How will schools change because of the teach-me? The school will not have to order anymore textbooks and the classrooms will be less cluttered. Lockers can be made smaller too. That way the school can fit more students. There will be less bullying and less tardy students because of the security measures on the teach-me. Also students have no way to forget homework or other study materials in their locker or at home.

  8. What will the teach-me look like? The teach-me has a pop-up light in the right hand corner, as well as many other colors that it comes in. A button that opens the keyboard, a camera above the logo. The teach-me comes in different colors. (Pink, blue, Dark blue, teal, purple, black, green, lime green, red, dark red, orange, yellow, polka-dots, stripes, and rainbow.)
