  3. Goals and Objectives • Bring African Americans into the tourist community. • Why no participation? • African Americans are interested in history. • But, no teaching of what Gettysburg means to African Americans (Community and Battle). • Create more of an understanding of African American History. • Will bring the entire community of Gettysburg together.

  4. Technology On-Line Presence • Website (www.tour-gettysburg.com) • Social Networking • Podcasts • Room for future growth

  5. Benefits • Website and podcasts allows for distance education • Teachers can use content for lesson plans • Networking with other historical groups allows for quicker growth and the ideas to carry further

  6. Impacts • Appeal to a more culturally diverse audience. • Free and interactive means of hands-on-history • Add to the existing tourism industry • Also provides an alternative tourism route in Gettysburg

  7. How to Process the Info • The IP addresses logged will help pinpoint the location of our users -so that the project can tell if it is reaching both a broad national and international audience, and the desired local audience as well. • Feedback: Survey, Comment Cards, etc… -presented a comment card, either virtually by e-mail or by hand, to fill out. -With these metrics, we can better determine if the tour is reaching a diverse and broad audience, and if it truly is bringing more diverse visitors to the borough of Gettysburg.
