  2. Let’s take a look at some popular food from around the world.

  3. Nicaragua Nicaragua is in Central America. The capital city is Managua.

  4. Nicaragua Nicaragua is the biggest country in Central America. It has two beautiful freshwater lakes as well as a chain of volcanoes.

  5. Nicaragua In Nicaragua coffee, bananas, sugarcane, cotton, rice and corn are grown and sold as popular exports.

  6. Nicaragua Did you know…? • Around 70% of the population living in rural areas find it hard to have basic things like food and housing. Around 30% of the population live in poverty. Do you think this is FAIR?

  7. Nicaragua CAFOD has worked in Nicaragua for over 40 years. We work with partners to help communities have food, water and safe housing.

  8. Mozambique Mozambique is in Southern Africa. The capital city is Maputo.

  9. Mozambique Mozambique’s climate is dry with low rainfall but in recent years floods have destroyed their land.

  10. Mozambique Mozambique exports thousands of tonnes of prawns to Europe!

  11. Mozambique Did you know…? Half of the population age 15 and above can read and write. Only 43% of the population have access to safe water. Do you think this is FAIR?

  12. Mozambique CAFOD has been working in Mozambique since 1983. We work with partners to help communities to rebuild after floods, grow food and work to help children complete their education.

  13. Cambodia Cambodia is in South East Asia. The capital city is Phnom Penh.

  14. Cambodia Cambodia is a country full of natural beauty.

  15. Cambodia In the markets of Phnom Penh you can buy everything from fresh fish from the nearby Mekong River, to fried spiders!

  16. Cambodia Did you know…? Around 4 in 10 people do not have access to clean water. Forests cover over half of Cambodia, but trees are being chopping down in many areas.

  17. Cambodia CAFOD has been working in Cambodia since 1980. We work with partners to help communities grow their own food, and have access to safe water in the future.

  18. Peru Peru is in South America. The capital city is Lima.

  19. Peru Peru has beautiful landscapes from mountains and beaches to deserts.

  20. Peru Over 200 varieties of potatoes are grown in Peru, ranging in size and even colour.

  21. Peru Did you know…? In Peru, mining is big business but local people find that mines can pollute their water. Many Peruvians have moved from the countryside to urban informal settlements. Do you think this is FAIR?

  22. Peru CAFOD has been working in Peru since 1968. We work with partners to help communities deal with water pollution, and we support training projects to help young people and women living in shanty towns to find work.

  23. Bolivia Bolivia is in South America. The capital city is Sucre.

  24. Bolivia Bolivia has glaciers and rain forest and two thirds of the population are indigenous people.

  25. Bolivia One delicacy in Bolivia is chuño. This is a type of potato that is dried out overnight in the cold.

  26. Bolivia Did you know…? Lack of clean water and variety of food, especially in rural areas, leads to health problems. Girls are less likely to finish primary school. Do you think this is FAIR?

  27. Bolivia CAFOD has been working in Bolivia for more than 20 years. We work with partners to help local people have a voice and speak up for their rights.
