How well do you know your coaches? • Favorite Activity is Pickle ball • Traveled to 13 countries • Loves mint chocolate chip ice cream • Favorite sports teams are Red Socks & Patriots • Was a lifeguard • Has eaten frog legs • Has 2 children • Has eaten kangaroo • Has never broken a bone • Once played tennis with Hall of Fame Hank Aaron

How to dress for PE. • How many times do you have PE? • 2 or 3 times a week • Shoes: NO sandals, cowboy boots, flip flops, slip on shoes, army boots, dress shoes, wheelies, or platforms. • Shoes must be an athletic type • Shorts, long pants, bike pants, & skorts are acceptable. • NO jewelry, valuables, toys, chains, money, pencils, etc. can be brought to class. Leave them in the Classroom. • NO hats are to be worn indoors. Outside is acceptable.

  4. Guidelines are broken…… • If you don’t follow the guidelines you will have a consequence: • Time out: 10 mins or more, writing paragraphs • Parent contacted: Time out sheet or Phone call or both • Classroom teacher will be notified. • Serious offenses will be a referral to the office.

  5. Squads/ Dots • Your dot is your desk. It is your safe zone. • When you arrive for class, sit down on your assigned dot. • DO NOT run around or move off your dot. • Squad dots are used for roll call. • 4th Grade: No backpacks on dots. Line up along the wall.

  6. Bathroom and Drinks • Use bathroom before & after class • Get drinks in proper areas • Water bottles must be kept out of the playing/ skill area. • Do not leave class without permission • Fire drills & Lock downs (need to know where you are at all times) • Fire Drill & Lock down Expectations

  7. Equipment • Do not bring in or set up, unless you are the one assigned. • If there is any PE equipment out during recess/lunch, DO NOT move it or use it without permission. • Treat equipment with care at all times….Respect equipment. • Must ask and get permission to: • Touch equipment • Take equipment • Enter Storage • Knock on door to enter coaches office. • Don’t ever just walk in.

  8. PAWS-ome • Given for • Practice Safety • Act Responsibly • Work Towards Success • Show Respect • Starts from the time you come to class, until you are picked up by teacher. • Behavior during roll call, playing games, and lining up. • Put in the PE bucket not classroom. Two name will be drawn from PE bucket each month.

  9. 3 Whistles • When a whistle blows, it means teacher needs to tell the class something. • Immediately: You need to freeze! STOP! LOOK!! LISTEN!!!

  10. Other ways to get your attention: • Claps • Word cues

  11. Excuses • Must have a note from home to excuse you from activity. • Note must have date, reason, and parent signature. • If you are to be excused for more than one week, you must have a doctors excuse. • When you recover from your injury, you must have a doctors note to participate in PE activities. • You will be given something to do when you are sitting out.

  12. Grades • Achievement & Behavior (Citizenship) • Can be a skill or a written test. • E, S, I, N, U • Progress Reports/ Report Card • Ways to lose points: • Chewing gum, food, or candy • Wrong shoes • Poor sportsmanship/ Disrespect • Any other reason to go to time out • 1st time: Warning • 2nd time: time out • 3rd time: out for remainder of class loss of daily points ***Some Steps can be skipped if needed.***

  13. Activities • Everyone has different likes and talents. • Do the BEST you can do in each unit, whether you like the activity or not. • Units are different lengths. Some may be long and some may be short.

  14. Evolution • Rock, Paper, Scissors game • Start as an egg • Find another egg, Introduce yourself • Dual- Rock, paper, scissors • Winner moves up a level, lose stays an egg Levels: Egg, Chicken, Dinosaur, Human
