  5. EALR 4: The student analyzes and evaluates theeffectiveness of written work.

  6. GLEs 8th Grade • Analyzes ideas, selects a manageable topic, and elaborates using specific, relevant details and/or examples. • Analyzes and evaluates writing using established criteria. • Uses a variety of sentences consistent with audience, purpose, and form.

  7. GLEs 9/10 Grades • Publishes in formats that are appropriate for specific audiences and purpose. • Uses collaborative skills to adapt writing process. • Uses a variety of forms/genre.

  8. www.NCTE.org • Just as general as GLE/ EALR. • Are identical in what they want ALL students to accomplish.

  9. Core/ National/ State • Uniform • Generalized • Core-> Paragraph format. More complex insight. • Standards for each grade level.
