Language points: • consciousadj. 1. knowing, understanding, or recognizing something; awake [例] She wasn't conscious of the fact that she had chosen the wrong direction. 2. having all one's senses working and able to understand what is happening; not in a sleeplike state [例] Though badly hurt in the accident, he was still conscious.
