  2. Runners. • Usain Bolt, (born 21 August 1986), is a Jamaican sprinter and a five-time World and three-time Olympic gold medalist. He is the world record and Olympic record holder in the 100 meters, the 200 meters and (along with his teammates) the 4×100 meters relay. He is the reigning Olympic champion in these three events, and is one of only seven athletes along with Valerie Adams, Veronica Campbell-Brown, Jacque Freitag, Yelena Isinbayeva, Jana Pittman, DaniSamuels to win world championships at the youth, junior, and senior level of an athletic event.

  3. Swimmer. Adlington represented Great Britainin the 2008 Summer Olympics, competing in the 400 mand 800 m freestyle swimming events. She was also scheduled to swim in the 4×200 m freestyle relay but was rested in the heat and the team failed to qualify for the final. In the heats of the 400 m freestyle, she broke the Commonwealth record with a time of 4:02.24.On 11 August 2008 she won an Olympic gold medal in the same event, with a time of 4:03.22, beating Katie Hoff of the United States in the last 20 m. She was the first woman to win swimming gold for Great Britain since Anita Lonsbrough in 1960.She was the first British swimmer to win more than one gold medal at a single Olympic Games since Henry Taylor won three in 1908.

  4. Diver. Tom Daley (born 21 May 1994)is an Englishdiver who specialises in the 10 metre platform event and was the 2009 FINA World Championin the individual event at the age of 15. He started diving at the age of seven and is a member of Plymouth Diving Club. He has made an impact in national and international competitions from age 9. He represented Great Britain at the 2008 Summer Olympicswhere he was Britain's youngest competitor, the youngest competitor of any nationality outside the sport of swimming, and the youngest to participate in a final. In the first post-Rome 2009 World Championships edition of the FINA World Diving Rankings for the ten-metre platform, Daley reached a new career best ranking of number one. He also played in the common wealth games in 2010 and won 2 gold medals.

  5. Herdals. David "Dai" Greene (born 11 April 1986) is a Welsh hurdlerwho specialises in the 400 metres hurdles event and competes internationally for both Wales and Great Britain. He is the second fastest British man over the 400 m hurdles, behind the British record holder, KrissAkabusi. Greene is the current European, Commonwealth and World Champion.
