Literature circles • First Literature Circle is tomorrow! You MUST be ready for your group! Keep your group members accountable! • Get out your lit circle worksheet. By tomorrow, you must have 5 quotes cited in MLA format for your specific job. Do research if you need to! (Lee 45). • On the lines below, you must write about each quote. You can number your responses. 1. Summarize your quote/what do you think it means? 2. How is your quote an example of your job (symbol, theme, etc.). 3. Why you chose this quote. 4. Author’s purpose: Why did Harper Lee write this?
Literature circles • Each group member will take turns teaching about their job/quotes/explanation. • The rest of the group members will take notes on the backside of their worksheet. • If a group member did not do his/her job, it is up to the group to find another student in class to help them get the notes. • If a group member does not do his/her job 2 times in a row, the group has the right to kick this person out of the group for the day. The group member will sit by themselves and get the information before the end of the class period. • Worksheets must be filled out completely for credit.
