theproyouth initiative • Aim: Implementation anddisseminationof an Internet-basedplatformfor mental healthpromotion, illnessprevention, andearlyinterventionin eatingdisorders • Background: - Current healthcare fails to significantly alleviate the consequences of mental illness (e.g. due to limited availability, reach, and effectiveness of treatments).- Prevention and early intervention may have a significant impact on public health by avoiding onset of mental illness and limiting severity of onset.- Many individuals affected by eating disorders seek help late or not at all.
