Leadership Next – An Introduction Background : On 11/11/11, exactly at 11.11 hours, an email landed in our inbox conveying that Eka has been officially incorporated as a company with the Registrar of Companies. This is a very unique co-incidence, as Eka means “1” and what else could be a more appropriate time for Eka’s birth other than 11/11/11. We therefore decided that we shall celebrate 11/11 every year as Eka’s birthday through a fabulous program on leadership called “Leadership Next”

Leadership Next – An Introduction Program Brief : Leadership Next is a very unique program where leaders from the civilian bureaucracy, the military and the politics come together and share their thoughts on how Leadership is changing in the changing times. Also, there would be discussions on how leadership is evolving for the future. This high intensity academic session would be followed by celebrating those who have expressed very unique leadership traits – and are seldom remembered. This is a one full day event : The day time devoted to academic sessions on leadership and the evening session consisting of key note address followed by Award Ceremony

  4. Leadership Next – An Introduction Audience Profile: To ensure better value addition, we will consciously have a very unique mixture of audience. The proposed audience profile would be as follows:- a) Military Officers : 15% b) Police Officers: 5% c) Civilian Officers / Bureaucrats: 10% d) CEOs / CxOs: 25% e) HR / Academicians: 15% f) MBA / Post Grad students: 20% g) Other guests / invitees: 10% We shall ensure that each one of the audience is selected with utmost care so that there is a clear synergy between the program, the organizer and the sponsor.

  5. Leadership Next – An Introduction The Awards: There would be two awards instituted – which shall be given during the award ceremony in the evening. The nomination and the selection would be done under strict non-partisan supervision by some of the eminent personalities. The awards are: The Eka Prize for sustainable leadership – given to organization which has put in processes and has created eco system which spawns leadership within the organization that is scalable and sustainable. The prize consists of a trophy and a citation. The Leadership Next award for personal leadership – given to individuals who have exhibited traits of leadership in whatever profession they are in / whatever hirearchial position that they might be in. The award carries a trophy, a medal, a citation and a cash prized (TBD)

Leadership Next – Logistics The Venue: We have shortlisted two probable venues for the program: The mail hall of Bombay Stock Exchange : BSE has been an epitome of Indian industry for the past several decades. It has become a gold standard for measuring the progress of the nation’s economy. What better place could be suitable for a function that is all about leadership next? Thus BSE main hall would be one of the two alternate venue that we have for this function. The Grand Ball room of Hotel TajMahal Palace : For more than a century, the TajMahal Palace has been the symbol of pursuit of excellence in hospitality….reinforced by the cavalier that their employees displayed during the 26/11 attack. Grandeur, Majestic – leadership beyond the tryst of destiny…that is what TajMahal Palace is about….and just the right place for an event like Leadership Next.

Leadership Next – Speakers While it is too early for the comprehensive list of speakers, we have reached out to the following dignitaries who have responded favorably: HE the Governor of Maharashtra (for presiding and awarding ceremony) The General Officer Commanding – Mumbai Area from army The Flag Officer Commanding in Chief – Western Naval Command The Commissioner of Police – Mumbai (since there is a change, we have to approach again) The chief secretary – Government of Maharashtra We are in the process of reaching out to others and we shall ensure that we have a stellar list of speakers to make this program truly valuable.
