What is it? • An effort to reform the ills in society • Most of the “ills” were created in some way by industrialization and urbanization
Progressive Goals • Protect the people socially & economically • Make society more “moral” • Reform the economy – less corruption • Reform the government – give power back to the people • Also make society more efficient…. • Restore “traditional/rural” American values
