GHG Indexing of Ships • CO2 Equation used for “Yearly” Calculations C. Con. Factor * S FCi / S (M Cargoi * Dist i ) Where: C. Con Factor for HFO = 3.11 C. Con Factor for MDO = 3.17 Distance = Loaded + Ballast distance (nm)
GHG Indexing of Ships • CO2 Equation used for “Voyage” Calculations C. Con. Factor * FCi / (M Cargoi * Dist i ) Where: C. Con Factor for HFO = 3.11 C. Con Factor for MDO = 3.17 Distance = Loaded + Ballast distance (nm)
GHG Indexing of Ships • GHG Index used for “Yearly” and “Voyage” calculations uses same principle but incorporates refrigerant gas refill tonnage (RF) and the Global Warming Potential (GWP = 3780) of the gas to equate it to CO2 equivalency (C.Conv.Factor * S FC i) + (S RF i * GWP) / S(M Cargo i * Dist i )
