  2. Contrast This painting is an example of good contrast. The ground is dark and dull, and the sky is bright and vivid. The colours in this piece are quite dull and plain. The contrast in it is very unnoticeable and quite non-existent.

  3. Repetition The pattern used in this painting is good repetition. It utilizes a triangular based patternthat repeats horizontally and also inverts horizontally going along, and it also utilizes a couplemore shapes and images that repeat throughout as well. There is very little in the way of repetition in this painting. The doors on the left are mirror imagesand the bird is by itself; there are no realrepeating patterns or objects in this image.

  4. Alignment The two railings on the sides of this bridgeare leading into one direction. The two lines also are on an almost exact horizontal plane. In this work, alignment cannot be found in great detail. The linesand patterns are basic but chaotic; theydo not seem to show any one focal pointbut rather a flux of focus.

  5. Proximity The two elephants are far away from eachother and not together as the principle of proximity details they should. For this particularpainting however, a Dali, it is done on purposefor the surrealism style. The flowers in this painting areall bunched up together in good proximity. The eyes at the bottom are done in a similarfashion as well.
