Rules and Procedures • It is strongly suggested that students bring a change of clothes for Physical Education class. • Students should dress quickly to allow for maximum time for class. • If a student needs to be excused from a single class a note from a parent or guardian is acceptable.
Rules and Procedures Continued • If a student is out for more than one class a doctors note is required and is to be given to Mrs. McDermott. • A student who excused for one week or longer will be given an in-class assignment on the activity being covered. • STUDENTS WILL WEAR APPROPRIATE CLOTHING. (Sneakers with rubber soles and laces and athletic clothing)
Not Permitted in Class • GUM • Jeans • CANDY • HATS • JEWELRY- ONLY POSTS AND SMALL HOOP EARRINGS
Grading • Students will be graded as follows for each unit: • 20% of the grade will be based upon coming prepared to class. • 10% of the grade will be based upon the results of assessments (FitnessGram and written assessments where applicable). • 10% of the grade will be based upon class behavior, both towards their classmates and myself. • 60% of the grade will be based upon class participation.

FitnessGram • FITNESSGRAM physical fitness assessment program includes a variety of health relatedphysical fitness tests designed to assess cardiovascular fitness, body composition, muscle strength, muscular endurance, and flexibility.
Testing Activities • Aerobic Capacity- The Pacer Test- • Body Composition- Body Max Index • Abdominal Strength & Endurance- Curl Ups • Trunk Extensor Strength & Flexibility- Trunk Lift • Upper Body Strength & Endurance- 90 Degree Push-ups • Flexibility- Back Saver Sit & Reach
