Internationalization Policy of NRU “BelSU” Design of Individual Work Plan • the new status of National Research University awarded to BelSU in 2010 contributed to the selection of measures aimed at improvement of internationalization policy • internationalization policy complies with the main objective of the International Cooperation Program till 2015 – integration of NRU “BelSU” as an equal partner into the international educational and scientific area through a comprehensive internationalization policy providing for introduction of international aspects in all spheres of its activity • activities implemented to attain the main objective of the Program are seen as measures aimed to improve weak points and to strengthen strong points of NRU “BelSU” internationalization policy
Internationalization Policy of NRU “BelSU” Design of Individual Work Plan • designed by International Office together with the staff involved in internationalization who gained best practices and quality assurance tools during workshops at EU-partners • based on evaluation of the existing level of internationalization outlined in the Final Site-Visits Report and Categorization of BelSU at the start of the project in 2009 • specifies the Current Category of internationalization, the Targeted Category and Planned Activities, Deliverables Schedule and Departments in Charge

Internationalization Policy of NRU “BelSU” Strong Points as result of Individual Work Plan (III): • increase ofEnglish proficiency of teaching staffand curriculum taught in English • arrangement of specialized English language courses for teaching staff • completion of the advanced training course in Teaching Methodology by the teachers of English as a foreign language from the Faculty of Romance-Germanic Philology • introduction measures aimed at motivation of teaching staff providing educational programmes in English • advanced training of academic and research staff in partner universities in English • providing incentives for scholars to publish articles in international journals

Internationalization Policy of NRU “BelSU” Sustainability of the Project : • new skill and expertise gained by BelSU target group during the in-house training • bilateral agreements with QATMI partners • funding of internationalization activities of BelSU in the status of National Research University • experience gained in writing the application for the Tempus project LLL3S in 2010 • experience gained in implementation of the QATMI project • coordinators of international cooperation appointed at the faculties • new position of Vice-Rector for International Relations and Security introduced at BelSU • motivated top-level management and faculty deans with a good level of English • decision of the Senate to start providing education programs in English in 10 fields of study in academic year 2011-2012
Internationalization Policy of NRU “BelSU” Future Benchmarking Process: • the format of the self-assessment studyequipped BelSU withtools for evaluation of how internationalizations activities and service are dealt with and carried out • the portfolio of indicators of the self-assessment will enable BelSU to make its own vision of internationalization level achieved so far and compare it with the level of partner universities involved in the project • the self-assessment questionnaire was used to improve BelSU’s own monitoring of internationalization process at the faculties and research units • internal forms designed by IO will be used to accumulate statistical data for future benchmarking process with other PCIs
