  12. ELECTIVE MODULE: • Public Health and Health Promotion Holistic approach in the Primary care context. Public health and health promotion, working with individuals, families and the community • Management of Clinical Care Develop competence in a chosen area, to enhance care and programme management. The area chosen determined by an NSF framework, or equivalent e.g. Diabetes, Palliative Care, Respiratory Care or Coronary Heart Disease • Negotiated Learning • Allows learner to define, develop and demonstrate specific learning on an aspect of their role • OTHER

The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education defines a masters degree in the following terms: • Much of the study is at, or informed by, the forefront of an academic or professional discipline.   17. OUTCOME • An advanced practitioner who has highly specialised or highly developed knowledge and skills beyond those which are required for registration, encompassing the breadth and depth of current and future professional practice.
