2. What is the WIC & Senior FMNP? Program Overview • The WIC Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program was created to give WIC families access to locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables and promote small family farms and local farmers markets in California. • The program runs May – November. • The participant benefit is $20 per family. • Checks can only be used at WIC authorized farmers’ markets. • Senior FMNP is administered by the CDFA through the AAA’s. TRAINING TOOLKIT WIC & Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program FARMER TRAINING TOOL KIT The Training Tool Kit is designed for use by Market Managers and Local Agency staff: • To train market managers, farmers and their employees on the WIC FMNP and SFMNP • To ensure consistency in the standards and format of FMNP training • To provide guidance on record keeping and documentation of training

13. Redemption Report The redemption report shows the percentage of FMNP checks that were deposited and paid to the farmer. If the farmer does not take his/her checks to the bank, those checks will not be reflected.

FMNP ADMINISTRATIVE FUNDS Goals of FMNP: CMB Chapters 12 & 13 • Authority to Spend • ATS letters mailed May 21. • Funding equals $1.50 per allocated check booklet. • Allowable Costs - USDA Memo • Time Studies of staff time spent on FMNP activities must remain on file in your office for 3 years. • CMB Chapter 13 attachments have been revised to include FMNP and BFPC columns for 13-1 & 13-3 timestudies. • Invoicing & Report of Actual Expenditures • Invoice allowable costs for your FMNP reimbursement throughout the season. • The final FMNP invoice is due November 15. • RAE– Due November 15. All FMNP costs, including those on the final invoice, must be reflected on the RAE.

Check Booklet Management WPM Section 800 & Job Aid 950 Series • Shipment Confirmation must be sent into the State WIC office immediately 800-42/950-05 • Receive the booklets in ISIS 800-42/950-07 • The State WIC office has activated the FMNP screens clinic sites. Clinic sites can be activated through September 30. They will be deactivated October 1.
