THE CONSTITUTION • Chapter 11 Article 176(1) establishes County governments and assigns specific obligations. • Article 174(f), requires Counties to promote social, economic development that promotes easily accessible services. • Devolution legislation allows Counties to enter into public private partnerships.

  3. COUNTIES AS INVESTMENT MAGNETS Favourable investment policies. Existence of untapped unique resources eg Oil in Turkana, proposed Lamu Port. County profiling through resource mapping. Aggressive marketing of Counties specific resources.

  4. Kwale County Over View It is one of the 6 coastal counties. Has an area of 8294.9 km2 . 250km long Coastline. 200 miles Exclusive Economic Zone. Population approximately 713,500.

  5. INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES TOURISM 250km Sandy beaches. Marine parks egKisiteMpunguti. Shimba hills national reserve and Mwaluganje elephant sanctuary. Historical sites eg Shimoni caves. Scenic sites; Shedrick falls & Maji moto springs. Kaya forests; ideal for promotion of cultural tourism.
