  3. Why is it a myth • Fire burns in more than one dimension • Can not tell the amount of time that a fire burned • This is present in the case: Commonwealth v. Han Tak Lee

  4. How Does it Affect Arson Investigation • Can mislead investigators as to where the fire began • Is not reliable for the length of burn • May point to an accelerant when none was present
