  1. Solarpowerplants Alternative energies: the energy for the future?

  2. Different kinds of solar plants Parabolic disk with Stirling motor Photovoltaics cells Plants with cylindrical concentrators CCP Plants with tower receptor and heliostates

  3. Different kinds of solar plants The thermosolar plants produce electricity with the concentration of the heat in a point and producing steam than can be transformed in electricity by turbines or other motors. This kind of plants produce electricity by photovoltaic cells that transform the heat of the sun directly in electric energy. This electricity goes to the national electric network.

  4. Solar plant with cylindrical receptor The solar grabber has cylindrical form and a reflecting surface where all the heat is concentrated in a pipe. For this pipe passes a fluid that heats and produce steam. This steam is transported to a turbine. This turbine produces electricity.

  5. Photovoltaic solar plants The main components are: -photovoltaic cells -Power room where it stocks the continuous current and it is transformed in alternating current (converters) -line of connection with national electric network

  6. Photovoltaic solar plants The photovoltaic solar panel is formed by cells of silicon and we can distinguish different parts: -Negative contact. -Special charge zone. -Positive contact. The movement of the electrons between the different parts of the cells produces electricity.

  7. Solar thermal plant The panels reflects the solar light in the heliostats of the recollection tower, where there is a boiler. This boiler heats the water or the liquid of the pipes to produce steam. This steam runs through a turbine which produce electricity that is connected with the electric network.

  8. Solar thermal plants The steam is produced in the heater. In these solar plants, the plates are mirrors that send the heat in a tower with a boiler, where is produced the steam that runs turbines. These turbines produce electricity. The panels can be made by aluminium, plastic or glass.

  9. Solar plant with Stirlingengine The components of these grabbers are: -Grabber with parabolic form, made by materials like aluminum or other metals to concentrate sunlight. -The receiver, between the grabber and the engine, it absorbs all sunlight and sends the heat to the engine. -The Stirlingengine (invented in 1816) that transforms the heat in mechanic energy and can produce electricity.

  10. Radiation hours in Europe In this map we can see the radiation’s hours in Europe: This information is very useful to know in which zones can be more productive the installation of solar plants. We can see three big strips: -The south or the Mediterranean slope, with more hours of sun (yellow) -In the centre of Europe: Germany, Switzerland, etc, And the British islands. (green). -North of Europe: Nordic countries, etc. (blue)

  11. Solar power installed in Europe We can see the solar power installed in Europe in solar plants and domestic uses or public services. The countries with more solar power installed are: -Germany -Spain -Italy -France

  12. Solar power installed in Europe In these graphics we can see the main countries in Europe with solar power installed. The most important is Germany. Spain was the second until 2010. In 2011 and next years Italy installed more plants and now is the second.

  13. Radiation in the world The red are the zones with more radiation and the blue with few hours of radiation

  14. Solar power in the world In 2008 the 81 % of solar energy production in the world was installed in Europe. We can see, too, the ten solar plants with more production in the world in 2011.

  15. The solar industry in the world The best zones in the world to find work in solar industry The best zones in the world to install photovoltaics cells The best zones in the world to create a solar entreprise

  16. World situation of solar power energy In this graphic we can see the increase of the solar power installed in the world. This increase Is more important between 2008 and 2010. It’s important the increase In China.

  17. The modern installation in the world Comparative of the height of the tower The biggest solar tower in the world. Arizona (USA) Sun-Moon Mansion in Dezhou, China

  18. Radiation hours in Spain In this map there are the average or radiation in Spain: Zone V: South and the center the averages is 5 KWh/m2 or more Zone III and IV: center and Mediterranean areas the average between 4,2 and 5 KWh/m2 Zone I and II: North and Cantabric coast the averages is 4,2 KWh/m2 or less

  19. Photovoltaic power in Spain In this map we see the photovoltaic power installed in Spain in 2004. The main zones are: -Andalusia -Navarra -Catalunya -Castellailleó

  20. Thermosolar plants in Spain In this map there are the biggest thermosolar plants in Spain. They are in Andalucía and Castella-La Manxa. In the graphics there is the evolution of solar power installed in Spain. The increase is very important between 2008 and 2010.

  21. Solar energy in Spain In the graphics there is the installation of photovoltaic energy by region. The most important are in the South and the center (Andalusia, Extremadura, Castelles)

  22. Solar plants in Spain Almería - Andalucía One of the ancient plants in Madrid (80’s) Sanlucar la Mayor - Sevilla

  23. Thermosolar plant of Sevilla – Sanlucar la Mayor One of the modern plants in the world. It uses salt to keep the heat of the sunlight and it can work without sun 15 hours.

  24. Photovoltaic power in the world In 2008 the leader countries of new installation of photovoltaic power in the world was Spain and Germany. And other European countries were in the list of top ten.

  25. Radiation hours in Catalonia The orange zones have more radiation, there are in the center and Mediterranean coast. The green zone, in the north, has fewer sun radiation. There are 81 villages and cities in Catalonia that have rulesto promote the use of solar energy. There are 12000 m2 of thermiccaptators.

  26. Solar plants in Catalonia Vilanova de la Sal Tàrrega (Lleida) Devesa de Flix Girona

  27. The innovation in the solar energy Solar tile roofs The solar balloons Islands of solar cells (Japan) Tulip plants (Israel)

  28. The future of solar energy
