  3. Zenker's diverticulum, also pharyngoesophageal • diverticulum, is a diverticulum • of the mucosa of the pharynx • just above the cricopharyngeal • muscle (i.e. above the upper • sphincter of the esophagus).

The p is always lower case and the H is always capitalized. • Trifurcation: the act of branching out or dividing into branches • Prosthetic vs prostatic • Prosthetic: an artificial extension that replaces a missing body part. • Prostatic: of or relating to the prostate.

  5. Seldinger technique is a medical procedure to obtain safe access to blood vessels and other hollow organs.

Spare your energy! • Abbreviating makes it simpler for the doctor to read. Measurements and numbers stand off the page for them to read easier. • Just because you abbreviate doesn’t mean that you can get sloppy! Make sure your numbers and measurements are accurate – ALWAYS!

Don’t write first, fourth, and third. Numbers jump off the page!
