Dragonheart • Dragonheartis about Bowen (Dennis Quaid), a Knight of The Old Code, he is the teacher of Einon, (David Thewlis) the son of the king. When Einon gets hurt in the battle against the village people and is near death, Aislinn the Queen (Julie Christie) takes Einon to the Dragon called Draco (voice of Sean Connery). • When Einon finally took over the throne he turned out just like his father and ignored the promise he made. Bowen, who is angry at Einon's betrayal, is convinced that the dragon is responsible for what has happened to Einion and goes on a mission to kill all the dragons to get revenge for what has happened to Einion. • At the end Bowen has to kill Draco to also kill the king
Eragon • Eragon(Ed Speleers) is a young farm boy goes while he is hunting he finds a blue stone, decided to keep the stone, when it one day started cracking, and a dragon jumps out of it. • Night he overhears Brom (Jeremy Irons) talking about Dragon Riders, how amazing they are and what they did, so he helps his dragon learn how to fly • Eragon and the Dragon start communicating by hearing each other’s thoughts, the dragon tells Eragon that her name is Saphira (voice of Rachel Weisz); she tells him that she chooses him to become a dragon rider and save the people who rebelled against the king Galbatorix (John Malkovich), • At the end they both have to fight strong for another to beat the kings helper and survive
Conclusion • Neither one is realistic from the dragon perspective but from the perspective of being loyal to family no matter what form they come in such as are pet • Dragonheartcame out in 1996 the production budget was $57,000,000 it made a gross pay of $51,317,350 by in the USA alone and worldwide not including the USA a gross pay $53,000,000 came in. At opening weekend for Dragonheart it was released into 2,130 theaters and brought in $15,027,150. • Eragoncame out in 2006 the production budget was $100,000,000, it made a gross pay of $75,021,527 in the USA alone and worldwide not including the USA a gross pay $174,400,164 came in. At opening weekend for Eragon it was released into 3,030 theaters and brought in $23,239,907.
