Psalm 37:3-7a • Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. • Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. • Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: • He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun. • Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; ….

  3. 2 Most Important Decisions in Life • Most important decision is to accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord of your life – this determines your eternal destiny • 2nd most important decision is who to marry

  4. 7 to do’s in search of the right mate God is the perfect matchmaker. He has prepared the right mate for each of his children. One thing is for sure: God has a perfect plan for us and he has a perfect match for us. 7 Principles to follow: • Trust in the Lord (Psalm 37:3) – believe that God has a plan for you that is good; you do not have to hurry but rather trust in him. • Delight in the Lord (Psalm 37:4) – focus on the Lord, not in running after girls or boys (The most important relationship you have is with the Lord. You should be willing to let go anything that will distract you from this relationship.)

  5. 7 to do’s in search of the right mate • Wait on the Lord. (Psalm 37:4) – wait for God’s perfect person and his perfect timing (Ecclesiastes 3:11). God is always ready to give, but sometimes we are not ready to receive. So God makes us wait so that we will be ready when the blessing comes. • Do good (Psalm 37:3,34) – students study hard; employees work well; be productive with your life. • Pray with your eyes open. Observe, discern. God may have already shown you the right mate right before your eyes. When it is God’s time he will give you extraordinary ability and grace to see and observe.

  6. 7 to do’s in search of the right mate • Make a list and check it thrice – List the qualities you would like for a lifetime partner – spiritual, emotional, physical, personality. Absolute must is that he/she must be a Christian. (2 Corinthians 6:14) • Don’t just pray for the right mate. Be the right mate. Work on your own character and personality. Be the kind of man that a woman would be proud to call her husband. Be the woman that a man would be proud to call his wife.

  7. God’s Promise Psalm 37:4,23,24,28 • Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. • If the Lord delights in a man’s way, he makes his steps firm; • Though he stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand. • For the Lord loves the just and will not forsake his faithful ones. They will be protected forever, but the offspring of the wicked will be cut off.
