Medical forms: Anyone who wishes to participate in Troop 1493 must fill out a BSA medical form. Here is the link: http://www.samhoustonbsa.org/my_files/documents/PDFs/Support_Services_Docs/annual_health-medical_record_34605.pdf It is the responsibility of the scout’s parent/guardian to make sure that the medical information given to the troop is accurate and up to date. This includes dosage changes in any medication being taken. Prescriptions: The taking of prescription medication is the responsibility of the individual taking the medication and/or that individual’s parent or guardian. A leader, after obtaining all the necessary information, may agree to accept the responsibility of making sure a youth takes the necessary medication at the appropriate time, but BSA does not mandate or necessarily encourage the leader to do so.
