Welcome to Dingwall Baptist Church Sunday 25 th March. Bitter/Sweet Experience. Palm Sunday.
E N D
Palm Sunday • 2000 years ago, a king was visiting their city. People lined the streets of the city hoping to get to see the King. The King came riding on a small donkey, and as he rode through the streets of the city, the people waved palm branches and shouted,
Hosanna • "Hosannato the Son of David! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!Hosannain the highest heaven!“ • I'm sure that you know who that King was -- it was Jesus. And this is what we call, Palm Sunday.
Jesus is Crucified! • Jesus was arrested, beaten, dragged through the street, and placed on a cross to die…for our sins.
Jesus in the Tomb • On the Sunday morning after Jesus was crucified, two women named Mary went to visit the tomb where Jesus had been buried. When they arrived, there was a great earthquake and an angel came and rolled away the huge stone that had been covering the entrance to Jesus' tomb. He sat on the stone and said to the two women,
Where is Jesus? • "Do not be afraid; I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for he has been raised, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay." You see, the stone was not rolled away so that Jesus could get out of the grave, it was rolled away so that his followers could go in and see that the tomb was empty.
Jesus is ALIVE!!!!! • He is alive, and because He is alive, we too can have a new life in Him.
Very truly I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw the signs I performed but because you ate the loaves and had your fill… (John 6:26) From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him… (John 6:66)
Life in this Life… I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty… (John 6:35)
Conclusion You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies (Psalm 23:5)
