Subject/Discipline Repository: AgEcon • Began in 1993 • Self-submitted full-text literature in agricultural and applied economics • From over 120 institutions worldwide, with growing collections from African participants • 30,000 submissions

Goals of the project • Promote intellectual freedom • Build communities of interest • Enhance the traditional academic enterprise • Not replace WebCT • Retain the cultural memory of the institution • Officially released April 12, 2004
As of April 21, 2008 Over 6,100 blogs created Over 94,000 entries Over 14,000 registered authors 60% undergrads 20% grad students 20% faculty and staff 53% female 47% male Between 800-1100 active blogs at any given time
