  1. Assembly Etiquette Adapted from www.menc.org

  2. Refrain from talking. • This is the first and greatest rule. • It also includes whispering.

  3. No singing, tapping fingers or feet. • The presenters do not need your help and your neighbors need silence. • Learn to tap your toes quietly inside your shoes if you really want to tap your feet.

  4. Please have nothing in your mouth, besides your teeth and tongue. • Gum and candy are not allowed.

  5. Do not use your watch alarm or jangle your jewelry. • You may enjoy the sound but the added percussion is disturbing to everyone around you.

  6. Stay awake. • You never know what important bits of wisdom you might learn!

  7. Keep your hands and feet to yourself. • Please keep your feet off of the seats. • This includes the seat cushions and the backs of the seats.

  8. Do not sigh with boredom. • If you are in agony, keep it to yourself. • Your neighbor just may be loving the assembly!

  9. Do not applaud until it is over. • You also don’t need to yell since it’s not a sports event.

  10. Do not embarrass yourself or your teacher. • Remember that you are representing your team and you want to be on your best behavior.

  11. Do not go to the assembly thinking you will hate it. • You may be surprised! • Give new things a chance and you might really enjoy the assembly!

  12. Enjoy the assembly!! • Thank you for trying your best and enjoy!!
