GREETING – Train Station • People move in slow motion towards a person they spy at a distance, when suddenly, as they get closer, they realize they are mistaken, and then pretend to greet another person.
SHARE & ACTIVITY – This Is My Life Purpose: Learn personal backgrounds in a fun setting Participants: Table Group Materials needed: Decks of cards — picture cards only Instructions: Face cards represent different stages of life; Jack is childhood Queen is teen years King is young adult Ace is now As each person draws a card, they must tell one short story about the period of their life that corresponds to the card.

News You Need to Know… ATES Daily Routines • Instructional blocks: • Morning Meeting ~ 15-20 minutes • Language Arts ~ 2 hours • Math ~ 75 minutes (1st – 5th) K ~ 50 minutes • Calendar Math ~ 10-15 minutes

Master Schedule • 300 minutes of planning during the instructional day • 60 minutes for a team meeting • 30 minutes before school one day a week for the second team meeting • Two 70 minute planning blocks each week • 40 or 60 minutes of planning the other days • Additional 20 minutes of planning provided by the librarian, SBTS, AAP teacher, or counselors • Every grade gets a 20 minute recess
First Week of School “All hands on deck!” • Students may enter the building at 8:05 a.m. • K students in the Cafeteria • 1st – 5th head directly to classroom • Breakfast begins Wednesday, 9/03
