  7. OBJECTIVES: Industry“para 21(b), MTP” • To improve the competitiveness of existing industries • to enhance coordination and networking among national and regional industrial institutions • to enable industries to meet regional and international standards, norms and regulations A.M.FARAHAT

Sectoral Issues and Policies Division(SIPD)Medium Term Plan1998-2001 • Objectives in Transport • To promote cooperation among Member States to improve transport operations and infrastructure policies • To harmonize standards and adoption of legal instruments for removing barriers impeding inter and intra-regional traffic • To liberalize border crossing and transit traffic A.M.FARAHAT

  9. OBJECTIVES: Agriculture“para 21(c), MTP” • To promote appropriate agriculture strategies in terms of management, resource conservation, and institution building • to identify areas for harmonization of agricultural policies, norms and regulations A.M.FARAHAT
