Spelling • Spelling is done weekly • Pre-test given on Monday • Student’s create lists based on the pattern of the week. (Home News) • Test given on Friday, words missed are added to their list for the following week.
MathEveryday Math • Number sense • place value; factors; multi-digit addition, subtraction, multiplication and division; rounding; fractions; decimals, negative numbers • Algebra and Functions • Measurement and Geometry • Statistics, Data Analysis, and Probability • At the beginning of each unit, a parent letter goes home that has answers to the homework

Homework • Homework will be assigned daily. • Students should expect about 45 minutes of homework daily (including reading for 20-30 minutes) Monday-Thursday. Unless otherwise noted, it will be due the next day. • Home work notices are sent to kids who miss an assignment. Notices need to be signed and returned the next day with the completed assignment. Students who miss 5 or more homework assignments per trimester will be given a detention.

Conferences • Conferences will be held the week of October 7-11. Every day of that week is a minimum day. • Please sign up for a day and time tonight. I will send home conference reminders soon. • If you are unable to come at any of the times given, please let me know and we can arrange something.
