  3. Check Greenpeace is a well-known, international organization with over 2.8 million supporters in 40 countries. Based in Amsterdam, Greenpeace works to stop man’s destructive practices through research, lobbying and diplomacy. It uses peaceful, high profile tactics to raise awareness of global problems. While its efforts to stop the hunting of whales is perhaps what it is the most famous for, Greenpeace also works to protect people as well. One of its most important and on-going efforts is to prevent nuclear testing and nuclear weapons. In fact, that’s how Greenpeace got its start.
