EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: • Purpose: Provide a safe & inclusive afterschool program that supports student achievement and stimulates students’ social, physical, and intellectual abilities. • FUNDING: The After School Education & Safety (ASES) Grant and LCAP Funding. • Program Elements: Nutritious Meal,Academic Block; Enrichment Block, Recreation Block • Program Hours of Operations: Every Instructional day from school dismissal to 6pm • Quality Standards for After School Programs: Provides a framework of clear expectations and describes program elements of high priority. • Community Based Partnerships: • City of Lodi Parks & Rec • Table Community Foundation • YMCA of San Joaquin • District Funded – Afterschool Programs: • 31 total schools in LUSD (Elementary -22, Middle -5, H.S. -4) • Daily Attendance: Approx. 3,000 student per day • Districtwide - After School Program Staffing: 267
AFTER SCHOOL BRIDGE PROGRAM: OVERVIEW • MISSION: The Lodi Unified, After School Bridge Program provides a safe and inclusive environment for all students to support learning and explore the possibilities of college, career and life. • FUNDING: The Bridge Program is funded by the After School Education & Safety (ASES) Grant and supplemented by the district’s LCAP Funding. The program is free to all participating students in LUSD. Future funding for the Bridge Program is determined in annual reviews by the California Department of Education targeting Grant Guidelines, Student Attendance, Program Policies, and Fiscal Oversight.
AFTER SCHOOL BRIDGE PROGRAM: OVERVIEW BRIDGE PROGRAM - DAILY SCHEDULE : Required Grant Components Attendance & Nutritious Meal: • All participating students are offered at least 1 nutritious meal at the start of program & snack at 5pm. Academic Block: • Homework Assistance by Bridge Staff , Para Educators & Credential Teachers • Expanded Learning Opportunities • Project Based Learning Activities in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math (STEAM) • Academic Interventions Enrichment Block: • Student Centered Activities • Student Leadership & Citizenship Clubs • Community Service Learning Clubs • College & Career Explorations Recreation Block: • Participation in a variety of physical activities designed to promote student inclusion & team building.

AFTER SCHOOL BRIDGE PROGRAM: OVERVIEW • Point of Service - Quality Standards for After School Programs: • Safe and Supportive Environment: The program provides a safe and nurturing environment that supports the developmental, social-emotional and physical needs of all students. • Active and Engaged Learning: Program design and activities reflect active, meaningful and engaging learning methods that promote collaboration and expand student horizons. • Skill Building :The program maintains high expectations for all students, intentionally links program goals and curricula with 21st-century skills and provides activities to help students achieve mastery. • Youth Voice and Leadership : The program provides and supports intentional opportunities for students to play a meaningful role in program design and implementation, and provides ongoing access to authentic leadership roles. • Healthy Choices and Behaviors: The program promotes student well-being through opportunities to learn about and practice balanced nutrition, physical activity and other healthy choices in an environment that supports a healthy life style. • Diversity, Access and Equity The program creates an environment in which students experience values that embrace diversity and equity regardless of race, color, religion, sex, age, income level, national origin, physical ability, sexual orientation and/or gender identity and expression.
