Don’t forget to wash your hands! By Kyah Woofers Zebra Rice Krispie Treats
Intro to Zebra Krispies Rice Krispie treats have been around since 1939. To many people, Rice Krispie treats are a family tradition. The recipe was created by Mildred Day and Malitta Jensen who worked in the home economics department at Kellog’s. It all started out as a fundraiser for Campfire girls. They based the recipe off of a similar recipe made by another crispy cereal. However, they used marshmallows instead of molasses to make it sweeter. My recipe takes the traditional recipe, and gives it a twist.
Ingredients • 10 oz. package of marshmallows • 3 cups reg. Rice Krispie cereal • 3 cups Cocoa Krispie cereal • 3 tbsp. butter • 1 ½ cups. white choc. chips • 1 ½ cups milk choc. chips
Stuff you need • 2 medium mixing bowls • 2 mixing spoons • 13 by 9 pan • 2 medium sauce pans
Step 1 Heat sauce pan to medium heat. While your pan is heating put Cocoa Krispies into one bowl and reg. Rice Krispies into your other bowl.
Step 2 Put 5 oz. (half of the package) of marshmallows, and 1 ½ tbsp. of the butter in one pan. In your other pan do the same. Now in one pan put the white choc. chips in the other pan put the white choc. chips.
Step 3 Stir both pans occasionally, about 1 to 2 minutes. Once both marshmallow mixtures are fully melted, put the choc. marshmallow mixture into the cocoa krispies and the reg. marshmallow mixture into the reg. rice krispies.
Step 4 Stir in the marshmallow mixture for the choc. rice krispies. Do the same for the original mixture.
Step 5 Now, you are ready to make it look like a zebra. First take a small strip of the chocolate, and press it against the edge of the pan. Then do the same with the vanilla. Do this in different sizes so you can make the effect of zebra stripes.
STEP 6 You can either chill it in the fridge for about 25 minutes. You could also leave it out on the counter for about 30 to 45 minutes or until firm.
Step 7 ENJOY WITH MILK, JUICE, WATER, OR JUST ON THEIR OWN!YUM YUM EAT IT REALLY GOOD!
CON... CON... CONCLUSION!!! This recipe is really delicious and you should try making it sometime. Like I said before traditional Rice Krispie Treats are a tradition to many people (hah hah hah). This recipe puts a twist on the traditional. PLEASE ENJOY THE FOLLOWING PICTURES!!!!!
